Creating Workflow Maps
To enable Delivery Flow to compute flow metrics for your Jira tasks, it is essential to establish your process, its individual steps, and the sequence of these steps in a Workflow Map. Each step should correspond to one or more Jira statuses. To evaluate flow efficiency accurately, it is crucial to differentiate between steps that denote active work and those that signify waiting periods. Additionally, it is necessary to specify the initial step marking the commencement of the work to be assessed and the final step indicating the completion of the task.
Navigate to the following options in Jira's top menu:
Apps> Manage Your Apps>
Subsequently, access the following section in the Left Side Bar:
Delivery Flow Admin> Workflow Maps
Upon completion of these steps, you will be presented with a screen resembling the one below:
When Delivery Flow is run for the first time, it will auto-generate up to ten Default Workflow Maps. Delivery Flow will identify the 10 most recently updated projects in your system and create maps based on details within these projects (Board lanes, Statuses and Status Categories). The Workflow Maps will be available to edit in the Workflow maps selection field on the Workflow Mapping page.
